Somatotrophin is a product of the Pituitary. It is a specific chain of 191 amino acids. Along with other growth factors, binding proteins and releaser hormones (precursors), Somatotrophin plays a direct or indirect role in the metabolic process of virtually every cell in the human body. The youthful, healthy body releases (in pulses) Somatotrophin between 10 -30 times per day. As we age, these pulses and the amount of Somatotrophin released in them begins to decrease.
